Evergreen Strategies started with a frustration. As the owner of Thornapple Construction, a residential remodeling company in West Michigan, I spent years searching for an accountant who actually understood my business.

Every CPA I met was great with numbers but clueless about the trades. They didn't understand job costing. They'd never heard of a draw schedule. They had no idea why my December revenue was half of my July. And when I asked about S-Corp conversion, most of them gave vague answers that told me they'd never done it for a trade company.

So I figured it out myself. I converted my own entity to an S-Corp through a pass-through structure. I set up Xero with trade-specific charts of accounts. I built compliance calendars for every LARA renewal, workers comp audit, and payroll tax deadline. And I realized — every trade company owner in Michigan is dealing with the same problems I was.

That's why Evergreen Strategies exists. We're not a generic accounting firm that happens to take contractor clients. We're a financial services company built from the ground up for Michigan trade companies — by someone who runs one.
